Kaski: The District Court, Kaski, has extended the judicial custody of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane for an additional 13 days to facilitate ongoing investigations into allegations of misappropriation of cooperative funds.
The decision was made by a single bench of Justice Navaraj Dahal, granting police more time to probe Lamichhane's involvement in financial irregularities tied to Suryadarshan Savings and Cooperatives in Pokhara, according to Information Officer Suraj Adhikari of the District Court, Kaski.
Lamichhane, who was arrested on October 18, has faced repeated remand extensions since his initial court appearance two days after his arrest. This marks the fourth extension of his custody as investigations continue.
Police escorted Lamichhane to the court as soon as it opened on Sunday, following standard procedure for custody reviews. He remains in custody at the District Police Office, Kaski.
The case centers on accusations of financial misconduct within the cooperative, a matter that has drawn significant public attention given Lamichhane's prominent political role as the leader of the RSP.
